Dear 3rd Grade STEM Families,
All 3rd graders will become engineers by creatively building a structure out of aluminum foil. Our STEM Challenge will be: What is the tallest freestanding tower your group can build with only 25 sq. ft. of aluminum foil? The students will complete this project by using the design process. Over a course of 3 sessions, each group of 4 students will need 75 sq. ft of aluminum foil as they will build, evaluate and build again. We will also work on accurately measuring our structures in centimeters.
I am still in need of 1350 sq. ft. of aluminum foil for this project. It would be easiest to have boxes of 25 sq. ft., but I would happily accept packages larger than that. In order to complete this project, we still need 54 more boxes.
