The iPads have arrived!!!! This week we spent time getting to know our iPads, understanding how to hold our iPads with respect, using the camera functions and discussing device safety. I encourage all parents to please review with your children how we never give out personal information when using a device. Some examples of personal information are: full name, school, phone number, email and address. We only give personal information to people we know and trust (teachers, parents, family and friends).
The students then went on a QR Code Quest Adventure! Using an app called Qrafter, the students scanned QR codes that were set up around the school. The QR code took the students to a video of me giving them them their task and place to find the next QR code. The tasks included using the camera to take pictures of each other in various places around the school, for example in front of their locker, in the library and on their favorite playground equipment. The students also familiarized themselves on how to take a video. Each student took a short video describing what the word STEM stands for (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
